TARA ROKPA THERAPY
Is a process of inner development and maturation, which combines Eastern and Western understanding of the mind and emotions, using methods from Eastern Philosophy / Mahayana Buddhism and Western psychotherapy. The aim is to develop understanding and compassion towards oneself and others, to develop our potential and true inner value.
TARA ROKPA CENTRE, GROOT MARICO, SA
TRC is situated on 160 hectares of farmland in a fertile wooded area with numerous hills and valleys watered by perennial streams. The environment is pristine, the air unpolluted, the night sky fantastic. All this in the remote North West Province, South Africa: 300 km from Johannesburg and 160 km South of Gaborone, Botswana.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS:
-Helping where help is needed.
TRC plans to offer a variety of practical training skills to disadvantaged youth of the locality,
in order to assist them to break out of their cycles of poverty and deprivation.
Training has begun with basic literacy and numeracy,
together with organic vegetable gardening and marketing.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH: COURSES, RETREATS
TRC offers meditation courses that are open to anyone interested in spiritual development - of any faith or of no faith.
It also offers specific Buddhist retreats, space and opportunities for Buddhist practices, especially Tara.
TRC STRUCTURE AND FUNDING
TRC is at the development stage.
For the acquisition of land and buildings Tara Rokpa International has extended a loan. Thus, TRC has to generate funds for loan repayment, rehabilitation and construction of buildings, and running costs.
Workshops and retreats bring an income. The money paid for courses is used for the upkeep of the centre.
Dharma teachers do not receive salaries but dana (offerings) from the students or course participants.
Any contribution, small or large, is appreciated:
